California, here we come!

Ah, California. We are so far behind on blogging, but I'm trying to get back in the swing of things now that everything has settled down.

How did we decide on California? What are we thinking? After all this time away, you're going away again?

As we got farther along into the trip, and farther removed from Tampa-life, we slowly began to open to other possibilities.

What does returning mean for us? Are we wanting to return to Tampa? Does it offer the next step we are looking for in both of our careers? Ultimately, as you know, we decided to give another adventure a "go."

A friend of Lindsay's had always been encouraging her to come to wine country to work on events. Long story short, we started down that path, it didn't work out, but Brian had already gone through the interview process for a company he really liked in Santa Rosa. He accepted that job and we would figure out Lindsay's job situation once we arrived on the West Coast.

So, as soon as we got back to the U.S.A., we started the process of finding new renters, cleaning up the house from our previous renters and figuring out how and what we could actually get to California.

We leased an apartment without seeing the place completely finished and planned our drive across country. By the way, if you're looking for an apartment in California wine country, just half the space you currently have in Florida and then double the cost. There you have California living!

All while celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and all the gazillion events so we could see those we had missed so much.

Saying goodbye (again) was tough, but we are excited to see what this next step to California brings.

Moving from one place to another is really difficult; you don't know what exactly to feel. When I experienced that, I was so sad because I had a special attachment with the town where I grew up. All of a sudden, I am forced to move out to the city so I can pursue studying college. It was a hard decision, but I guess you really need to face those kinds of decisions in your life so you can be tougher! That place is still special to me, but I know that I made the right decision!
